Store bought cookie dough is spreading alot when baking. How to fix it?

I got a tub of chocolate chip marshmallow cookie dough at a school fundraising. When I bake the cookies as instructed on the tub; they spread out a lot and become really thin and hard. How do I fix it. FYI, the ingredients do not list eggs in them.
