Help! hot topic? return?!?

mmkay. i bought my friend some makeup from hot topic in indiana for her bday. u nvr leave the tags on a gift, so i took i took them off. and i am now in texas and my dad threw away the recipt in indiana. i had 2 leave indiana early and couldnt make her party and the makeup isnt used at all. i dont want it cuz i dont wear makeup, can i still return it? or even get store credit?? SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY PLZZ!
